It’s been a month, I thought I’d never be able to blog for a while but hey I’m back. I was less and less attentive to the net for many days because office been loaded with activities. Aside from that, I’m getting used to having no Internet at the office. I mean before, when we’re online, no matter how work gets crazy, I can still manage to blog and do some transcription at Amazon. The past year’s Internet connection, thankfully have been sponsored by another office collaboration and right after the contract expired, they cut it off. So whenever the boss wants us to email something, we need to dash at Malvar Street where Internet cafes are bounteous and cheap. I could actually make that “email” thing an alibi just to get out of the office. Nyahahaha! Anyway, that’s not happening anymore because my boss now has his own smartbro usb prepaid Internet modem. He’s been checking and retrieving his emails on his own. He’d just appear to let me know that he needs to print his emails.
At home naman, I had problem last month with pldt mydsl. I kept getting “no connectivity” in my pc and I told them twice about the problem. First, I suspected a virus but I could still open Mozilla or IE and my two anti-virus softwares didn’t detect any viruses. Second, and I was right, I thought the problem was just in our area because when I asked a friend living down a few blocks from our street, their connection was ok and I confirmed this when I called pldt. It was on and off connection. When it was on, I was either sound asleep or hubby or son been using pc to download songs to their Ipod-I couldn’t wait.
Now, I’m back but not been fully blogging yet. I don’t know, let’s see. I’ve also wanted to read some books of Robert Parker, which I bought over the last weekend. I bought three of his mystery, suspense books I’d like to read these Holy days at home. I also initially planned to watch some dvd movies about Jesus to be more in tune with the Holy week reflection.

Days without blogging

I apologize for being such a lousy blogger. I was too happy to watch my hubby blog more than me. And it is such a pleasure to watch his Google Adsense earnings grow everyday..
Without blogging, my life didn’t remain stagnant though. Here's what I've done this week.
- I completed all the documents and got all our passports for the courier to pick up for the embassy.
- I asked hubby and he didn’t remember, to remove our diplomas from the wood frame which I found out to be laminated. (So pinoy!) But I think it’s useless, so we need to request for a new one
- I got interviewed and accepted for training without a fee. Hopefully this training will improve my English proficiency and vocabulary.
- A friend sent message for opportunity to transcribe for Meditek but I think my schedule right now won’t allow me.
- I watched episodes of The Apprentice.
- I watched The Secret DVD and planning to buy the book.
- Went to mall with Mama and received gifts.
- Read storybooks with Abby.
- Organized some stuff at home.
What's up?
I miss blogging. I miss my PC but I'm giving it up for a while (just for two weeks). I'm doing my duty as daughter-in-law. My mom-in-law arrived from the US and we only get to see each other once a year. She's 81-years-old yet a strong lady. I witnessed how she's managed the stress of going around the malls and wherever we go around the city. She didn't complain how far we walk or whenever she bends to fit the shoes she likes. We have durian everyday at home and my hubby kept reminding her to just eat in moderation. She likes crispy pata too. She stays here for two weeks with my sister-in-law from Manila and will be back to the US by September. We're heading to Mati City right now to attend a special occasion on August 20 so we have to leave them at home for three days.I'm in a haste. I've got to go..Be back in a week.
Mobile blogging
Yes, I'm blogging from my phone. Too lazy to stand up, besides hubby is blogging too. Mobile blogging is so convenient.I'm just here lying on the bed with Abby. I don't need to wait for some few seconds to start up. I don't have to go to power outlet. Besides, since we had that wifi installed at work, I stopped using internet at home. Dial up connection sucks! I always get a "problem loading page."The only thing that sets apart mobile blogging is the small screen and keyboard..And I'm only using my thumb to do the typing. Anyway, I'll check tomorrow how this will turn out on my blog.
Hard habit to break
Not until this afternoon.
I could not believe I got queasy yesterday noon. I am tough and resilient when it comes to having symptoms of stress. I seldom deal with physical ailments. I used to say sometimes “I wish I'd get sick ” so that I would have a reason to take a break from work or whatever I'm doing. It was different yesterday. I was rolling, crashing, churning, stomach churning and vomiting. It was altogether sickening.
I know the reason why. And it’s my entire fault.
Of course, I'm not pregnant!
Our dogs would agree that for several weeks, I was awake until wee hours in the morning. And making myself coffee. Our dogs barked when they sensed the light was turned on in our kitchen. Our dogs are located in the garage. And if you're there, you can practically see what the person is doing in the kitchen because only grills are attached to the window jambs.
I was online and for several weeks, I feel like a zombie.
It was bad yesterday because t'was the first time I felt like that and even if we arrived home I was still vomiting. TOXIC! And so, yesterday, my hubby told me not to touch the computer and not do anything but rest. Of course, I don’t want my stubbornness to show and I want him to feel that his advises matter to me – I drowned myself to sleep. I was happy; they did all the work, from cooking, to washing the dishes, watering the plants and doing the laundry.
But....I was able to blog today, thankfully
Blogging is my new habit and it’s a hard habit to break.
Blogging lessons and tips
Once I started blogging , a newbie like myself got engrossed on the many tips and tricks on how to make the blogsite searchable, how to monetize the blog by adding google adsense, experimenting with the layout and etc. I googled everything there is to know about adding something to a blog. Of course, I could only grasp little for the meantime. My ISP did not allow me to open as many tabs as I can. Here are the things that I tried last night. Just click on the links for more information.
- How to insert ads from Amazon—To insert Amazon contents, you need to sign up to become an Amazon associate in their affiliate program. Once you are signed up you’ll be given a tracking ID. On the tools tab, click on Build/Links widgets, you can find many options then simply click to add to your website. I just signed in to my old account since I did some podcast transcribing in MTurk before.

2. How to submit your blogs to search engines. You need to submit your blogs to search engines such as Yahoo or Google, blog directories, etc so your blog can become searchable. I submitted my blog to Yahoo and Google and I’ll continue doing it tonight to other blog directories. I don't know if they will approve a new blog. For a step-by-step guide, click these links:

- How to add a blogger and Google search box. Get codes from this very useful site: http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com
- How to insert scrolling text. I don’t know what happened with mine. I saved it in the layout but when I viewed the changes and then added other page elements, it appears and disappears when another element is added. I removed it anyway. View expert’s advice on the link in # 3.
These are only the few lessons I learned last night. More practice, more tips and I will have my blog up and running. Thanks to the WWW.
Become a Blogger
I still consider myself a dummy when it comes to blogging. And even if I did keep a journal though not regularly, I did not consider doing it online.I’m just one of those people who realize that we are in the internet stage and it’s very tempting to make an online presence.
This blog is experimental.
I’m looking forward to the experience of earning from a blog. Of course, that’s not going to happen soon. What do you expect from a newbie? In my previous url, I added Google Adsense and some referral links. I don’t know and I will find out now what is going to happen with my links and Adsense codes.
I can’t get enough of the internet. I use the internet everyday whether on the computer or on my phone. There’s much more than just having an email, connecting with friends and research. Hook up and you’ll see there are plenty of opportunities online but just make sure it’s not a scam.
I will be blogging mostly about work, family, food, wellness, interests and relationships. I changed the url of this blog from http://istoryadora.blogspot.com to http://jenalforque.blogspot.com . And up to now I keep on editing my posts. I thought of buying a domain for just 10$ a year but realized soon that I still have to know my way around. I will take advantage of the free services at the moment.
