I know what I want

And it's not these.

They’re beautiful. How can I not want these? They look enticing! Havaianas. I thought maybe my dry feet will look good on this one. Maybe it will, but not my wallet. These are not cheap flip-flops. These are priced from P795 to P1,300. Well for a rubber flip-flops, above one hundred would be expensive for me.I was with my sister last Saturday in SM. She traveled from Mati and dropped at SM to buy flip-flops. While inside the store, I just kept on annoying her "why don't you buy the cheap ones?" She owns three pairs only but I can't believe she's collecting these. Her husband even joked that her son used the flip-flops to play the "Tumba Lata" game. And the yaya that they were supposed to give me fled with her pair of havaianas but was able to retrieve it.

Anyway, there I was, not yielding to temptation. I could really buy if I want to, matagal na but when I remember my priorities, I choose not to.

I know what my real needs are.

About saving

After reading the book of Bo Sanchez, I was inspired about learning how to save and looking where to save. My hubby told me that he is afraid of my spending habits. I'm kinda out-of-control when I have money and I spend badly on things that I don't really need. But I do keep 10% of my income while trying hard to be consistent.
I’ve actually started saving for Pag-IBIG II Program in 2006 only with little amounts and then along the way I stopped because I was saving for other things. My hubby was the one who encouraged me to save in P-II. I asked him last week for a print-out of my contributions because I’m planning to restore it. Seriously, I got myself to doing a projection in Excel on how my funds would grow in 5, 10, 20 years time. Saving money and spending less money is our top priority nowadays.
Here are some resources on how to save money:
