My new ASUS Laptop!

I've been checking out laptops over the past weekend. It had been so hard to decide whether I should buy a laptop or not. Being almost in front of the computer for the whole work day everyday, and going home with the desktop for several years, I've thought that my own personal laptop can wait. But then, you know, the timing was just so good and I didn't use a lot of charm to acquire this laptop. When the Google Adsense earnings (of hubby) arrived just days before mother's day, I just decided to buy it when I walked in the computer store (Silicon Valley).

My laptop is an ASUS F8 series and I love it so much how it looks so sturdy outside. It's packed with Vista but it's on trial up to 60 days. I plan of buying the licensed Vista before it expires. Okay correction on this, what I have is MS office 97 and it's on trial for 60 days. The laptop has freebies like 4gb usb disk and a mouse but I decided to convert it to upgrade 1gb of RAM. It also comes with a free bag. Right now, I'm thinking of buying a pouch but the designs I saw in some stores, they didn't suit me. Here are the specs of my laptop.

PlayStation Portable

We’re planning to buy PSP for Justin maybe next month that’s why I’m surfing the net. He talked us into buying it because he knew someone’s selling it at a lower price than the ones sold at the malls. I still don’t know if it’s worth buying.

Honestly, all I know about PSP’s are that they are just a bunch of games installed. And I’m laughing because for someone like me who’s online daily didn’t know what this small device could do. But I’m not totally ignorant because I’ve already heard about this before the portable came out. I can predict that if this plan will push through, Justin will likely spend less time in the computer because he’ll get addicted to it. But of course, we will impose strict discipline so his studies won’t be that distressing.

I found a lot of reviews on the internet. I read this one and I think I’m sold out to this although I won’t let Justin bring it to school. He’ll have more time with it during the summer. Grabe, kids are so lucky now.

WIFI @ Bo’s Coffee

We went to Bo (ngot’s) coffee today, they have WIFI. Why? The virus on our laptop is causing paranoia to the user. We have pc-off. bat on the list detected on trial version of Kaspersky. If the virus list haven’t been updated while we were on Butuan, it could remain undetected and silently infecting our computers. The virus can be deleted but it keeps coming back. If we use our office ISP, baka abutan pa ng Friday. Kelan pa kaya kami magkaka-WIFI?

My sponsor ordered coffee. Honestly, I’m not used going to places like that kasi di naman ako sosyal. Mahilig ako sa kape, yes. At kung para magkape lang, I am contented in those cheap 10-in-1 coffees. Makailang beses pa ako makapag-kape (hanggang sa mag-palpitate pa nga!) at masarap pa. Pero anyway, libre naman so go.

I just don’t know why. The area has excellent signal and good setup but our computer cannot download even from Google or Yahoo or any search engine. So I asked the barista if we need a passkey to connect. And he said, we shouldn’t have a problem because the others can connect. There are about 5 other users who didn’t seem to have a hard time. I know we’re just near the router but I don’t know why it refuses to download.
Well, going to Bo (ngot’s) coffee was not such a good idea. And I no longer want to go there even if I have free coffee. We decided to move to another WIFI place after finishing our coffee but separated with my sponsor because I need to pick-up my passport at DFA office in Jacinto.
