I went to a neurologist and dermatologist today. It's a must that I should see a doctor because my head is hurting ever since my fall. I first headed to Brokenshire hospital, near our office. This is my first time to use my Intellicare card since it was renewed. Sometimes I would think that these HMO cards are not really useful for me since I seldom get sick but thank God I'm always healthy. This card allows me to have an annual comprehensive doctor's check, free consultation and laboratory as long as the doctor is accredited. I found out there is no accredited neurologist from Brokenshire Hospital and the doctor's assistant told me to go to Davao Doctor's Hospital. So I went there and waited. The doctor arrived at 11:00 am.I noticed that the doctor was the one calling the patients. Whenever a patient enters his room, I hear patient and doctor laughing. When he called "Alforque", he went outside his clinic and holding up my paper. I am curious if this doctor is going to make me laugh too.
D: So, what's your story?
J: Doc, I took a slimming tablet, fainted, fell on the floor and I got this, pointing at my right forehead.
D: Is that an otc or the doctor prescribed it to you?
J: No, I only asked the pharmacist if they have a slimming pills then I bought it.
D: Have you been taking the pills for long time?
J: No. I took pills last January this year and only once last week.
D: You bumped your head? Holding his penlight focusing to my left and then right eye.
J: Yes
D: Did you vomit?
J: No
D: Progressive ba ang headache mo? returning to his chair
J: No
D: If you vomited and the headache is progressive then I would be upset.
D: Just take analgesic for your headache and put a hot compress on your forehead, OK
J: OK, thank you doctor!
D: Let me know after a week if pain gets worse.(signing the form)
J: OK
I thought parang ATM transaction lang yung usapan namin. I was relieved to hear naman na hindi masyadong mabigat ang nangyari sa akin therefore I will not be frequenting the clinic. My mama would be pleased to hear that because she and tita kept texting me while I was in the clinic.
Next, I went to the dermatologist to ask for a cream to prevent scarring in my upper mouth - it's a little abrasion waiting to be a scar. I already bought a contractubex but the doctor told me to not use it kasi the wound has not totally dried. On my third visit, she will prescribe me a cream. For the upcoming days, I know I will be obsessing again on how to make this little heart-shaped scar disappear.
